ABOUT JUNIOR JACKETSJunior Jackets, presented by Tim Horton’s, is a great way to get involved in hockey and learn the basic skills of skating, stick handling, shooting and team play. Classes are offered year 'round at the OhioHealth Chillers for all ages and abilities and are taught by highly professional instructors.
- Weekly lessons taught by professional instructors
- Skate rental
- FREE public skate session to class participants each Saturday during the class session. Free admission is valid only to the Saturday 12:15-1:15pm public skate. Admission and skate rental are FREE for class members. Cost for family and friends is $3.00 admission and $3.00 skate rental. This session is offered only during regularly scheduled class sessions and will not be offered on off weeks or session breaks.

STEP 2 - Ages 4-Adult
JUNIOR JACKETS HOCKEY CLASSES
- Ages 4-5 Jr. Stingers
- Ages 5-10
- Ages 11-17
- Ages 18 & over
- Women’s Hockey Class
These advanced level classes are 50 minutes in length and focus on stick-handling, passing, shooting and team play. Participants must have basic skating skills and are required to wear hockey gear (see list below)
STEP 3 - Ages 6-Adult
When a player is ready to graduate from Junior Jackets to a house hockey team, there are three great organizations endorsed by the Chiller Ice Rinks. These volunteer-run hockey associations are based at the Chiller facilities, and work closely with us to provide the best experience for our players and families. The Junior Jacket Hockey Equipment Bank offers free equipment to qualified students involved in the Junior Jackets program. Equipment is limited in size and quantity and will not always be guaranteed. Applications are available at the front desk or download here.
JUNIOR JACKETS POLICIES
Refunds are not granted for missing individual classes, and are only granted if special circumstances prevent the skater from participating/completing the series of classes. Requests must be in writing, carry a per lesson charge, a $15 non-refundable registration fee, and require up to 6 weeks to process.
No make-ups during regularly scheduled classes will be permitted in order to preserve the appropriate student to teacher ratio.
